Staring into the Black Canyon

On this trip we stopped at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nationa Park in Colorado. I like seeing it just as much as the Grand Canyon even though it’s not as big. It’s still very deep and much more narrow and quite breath-taking. The light mineral viens against a darker rock background make the canyon walls somewhat of a work of art. This isn’t a huge park and definitely easy to visit on a day trip passing through, but it is worth a stop for sure!

If you’re passing through on your way to Grand Junction or heading to the San Juan Mountians, stop off at the Black Canyon. Sunset is a pretty time to see it.
