While living on the road we sometimes need wifi access to check email, map routes, update our stories to web visitors, & upload videos to the Youtube channel. So, here is a list of some of the more reliable places we’ve found wifi access. Some of the more reliable sources are grocery stores and Wal Mart. However, at these locations you have to be very close to the bulding. There’s also other considerations, such as whether or not you need to plugin to charge while using internet or if you need to get out of the weather or if you have dogs to consider. With these things in mind, here are some great ideas for places to find wifi:
- Visitor Centers
- Starbucks (exterior & interior)
- Lowes and Home Depot (exterior & interior)
- Walmart (sometimes exterior, interior)
- Safeway (interior)
- Fred Meyers (interior)
- Hotspots in some towns
Some of our favorites include Lowes and Home Depot where we can access the wifi from the parking lot. Lowes is only available during open hours. Walmart availability varies. Another benefit of Lowes is that you can take your dogs inside if it’s a hot day. This is sometimes an option at visitor centers as well.
We will list specific places, for the less obvious locations and cafes, in another article soon.
